a transformative series of three locally sourced dinner experiences with robust discussion of writings on food justice

About the event
This fall we have a real treat for you. It is a 3-part dinner series (Sept., Oct., and Nov.) carefully crafted around the discussion of important writings on food justice, farming, and community. As is our custom, this conversation will be shared around a table laden with good local food from neighboring farmers.
Getting us started on September 15 will be Derrick Weston, co-author of The Just Kitchen: Invitations to Sustainability, Cooking, Connection, and Celebration. This book will serve as the main topic of his presentation. Derrick is also co-host with Anna Woofenden of The Food and Faith Podcast. The Just Kitchen explores how the kitchen can be a place where the things we care about most in the world are reflected in the foods we prepare and the way we prepare them. We will be inspired to see the sacred in the ordinary, forge connection with the people and earth around us, and join the call of a just kitchen.
All of our meals are locally sourced and we are delighted to partner again on this meal with our friends at Harvest at the Masonic who will be providing some mouth watering dishes for us. Menu coming soon from Chef Andrea. But, while a chef prepared meal awaits, part of the charm of the evening is in sharing what we each can bring as a potluck side dish. (hint-whoever brings deviled eggs is first in line!) Feel free also to bring your own favorite beverage, if you like (alcoholic or otherwise).
Live music will also be provided by songwriter, storyteller, and troubadour of gospel grace, Darrell Adams who will be joining us from Louisville, Kentucky. Listen to Darrell here on Spotify and get a taste of what is in store.
- What a great evening this should be. See you on the farm!
